The Missing Link is a customized training program by The Interpreter Network. It is designed to help community or staff interpreters and bilingual employees who work in healthcare, social services, and education to develop and enhance their interpretation skills.

Interactive and Flexible Format

The program is available in either a 1-, 2-, or 3-day format depending on your organization’s needs. Our experienced and qualified trainers offer live, interactive sessions that can be done online or in person.

Valuable Learning Objectives
Based on a needs assessment and customized content, training participants will achieve these learning objectives:
  • Define the interpreter’s role
  • Describe and differentiate ethics for interpreting in various settings
  • Understand barriers to communication and demonstrate how to manage the session
  • Understand the impact of culture in interpreting and develop cultural competency
  • Apply effective intervention, clarification and communication
  • Evaluate and understand advocacy in interpreting
  • Define and demonstrate professional conduct
